Food is a basic need. The kind of food that is taken determines the state of health one will be in. Therefore, it is not a matter of taking just any kind of food but healthy and wholesome food. Good food preparation begins with having high quality cooking utensils and that is exactly what hard anodized cookware offers.
This is metallic saucepans and pots that are enhanced by being made using aluminum that has been electrochemically hardened. To do this, aluminum is dipped in sulfuric acid and then exposed to low electric charges. The aluminum is combined with oxygen to facilitate natural oxidation that results in the formation of aluminum oxide. The acid then gets cooled and the current is increased. The result is hard anodized aluminum which is twice as hard as stainless steel.
Such pots and pans are very durable compared to other kinds of non-stick brands. It is always completely non porous. It is the fact that there are no pores that makes them resistant to food sticking on it even if it happens to burn or get overcooked.
Other advantages are that these pots are also able to resist scratching and corrosion. It is necessary to only use wooden or plastic cooking sticks and other cooking utensils. They can withstand whisks and other wooden utensils.
They will not start to peel off or chip like pots over time like artificial non stick coatings do. They are non-toxic as well and they heat up to very high temperatures, in fact they can reach temperatures that would melt aluminum. Additionally, when they do heat up, they heat up quickly and uniformly.
It is not only pots and saucepans that are treated to give them anodized surfaces. It is also possible to get other appliances that are used for electric cooking. There are woks, waffle irons, griddles and frying pans as well. The fact that they do not scratch gives these small-sized appliances an ideal surface. Some of these have electric parts and so they should not be dipped in water to be cleaned. It is therefore most convenient that cleaning up is easy as food never sticks on them.
They are so easy to clean because the surface does not react to the acid in foods. For lightly soiled items, a simple wipe with a damp cloth does the job. Most of them are also safe to use in the oven and broiler. This depends on how they have been made in regard to what has been used to make the handles and rivets. Hard anodized cookware is now not used in commercial kitchens only. They are also used by every discerning cook at home.
