We all need simple dinner ideas and using the crockpot is the best method for such. Preparing this easy crockpot roast recipe first thing in the morning for a slow simmer throughout the day is my idea of the perfect Sunday meal.
When looking for a roast, I always find great deals on pork roast. The recipe is very easy and only requires a few main ingredients. By serving the roast with rice, you don’t have the hassle of peeling and chopping vegetables. This can be a great way to save money as veggies can get expensive during off season.
Now I prefer the roast and potatoes myself. So simply omit the white rice from the recipe directions and add 2 chopped carrots, 2 chopped celery stalks and 3-4 potatoes cut up. Of one my favorite reasons for using the crockpot, no rules, you can add or take away pretty much whatever you want.
Time For Prep: 5 min. Time For Cooking: 1 hour on high the 5-7 hours on low
* 1/2 cup of water * 1/2 cup of sugar * 1 cup soy sauce * 3 cloves of garlic * 2 TBS. Accent * 1 pork roast (3-5 lbs.)
1. Place roast in crockpot. 2. Top roast with remaining ingredients and cover. 3. Cook on high for about 1 hour the slow simmer for 5-7 hours on low. 4. Spend time with family and enjoy the day until dinnertime comes.
Makes 4-6 servings. Serve with a side of rice and the cooking juice. For the complete family meal add a side of salad and roll. This crockpot roast recipe really is a great set it and forget type meal.
