Johnson Brothers Willow Blue Teapot

Blue willow by Johnson Brothers offers a romantic imagery of a legend based on two Chinese lovers. Deep blue on white the pattern features intricate double borders with a combination of geometric detailing for a fabric like texture. The central imagery depicts a Chinese landscape with bridges, a river, trees, and houses. Two doves-reincarnations of the fugitive lovers can be seen at the top of picture, living “happily ever after”. The blue willow teapot is a perfect way to service morning or afternoon tea. Durable for everyday use and can go in the dishwasher, freezer, and microwave. Holds 40-ounce.Established in England over one hundred years ago and currently a member of the Wedgwood Group, Johnson Brothers has earned a reputation for creating high quality earthenware products. Thanks to its heavyweight material and scratch-resistant surfaces, the durability of the Willow Blue collection makes it ideally suited to the rigors of daily household use. Each piece can be safely popped in the freezer or microwave; additionally, it cleans effortlessly in the dishwasher.

This traditionally shaped, 40-ounce teapot, sits low with a full, round body resting on a footed base. One side features a sturdy, arched handle for comfort and control while a curved pouring spout sits opposite. The pattern’s white background carries a soft grayish hue and provides a beautiful contrast to its deep blue imagery. Depictions of trees, houses, bridges, and boats nestled in a charming Chinese landscape surround the pot’s belly while an intricately detailed geometric pattern outlines the opening. Thanks to glossy surfaces and a touch of traditional elegance, this piece easily transitions to formal settings. And for those who prefer a highly coordinated table, a broad selection of matching dinnerware and accessories are available for purchase. — Amy Arnold
