Good Heavy Duty Pot for Brewing,
I bought this pot for brewing beer. The pot is very sturdy and holds up well when lifting 5 gallons by the handles. The bottom is clad and appears pretty thick. The only complaint I have about is that it is not 18/10 stainless steel as they advertise. I suspect it’s 18/0. The 10 or 0 denominator is supposed to be the nickel content. If it were truly 18/10, I should not be able to stick a magnet on it. See photo. I don’t think it really matters for brewing. I read that true 18/10 steel is better at resisting stains. Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars. It’s a good value. I also looked at the Bayou Classic 40 qt stock pot. Go to youtube and search for keywords ‘Bayou Classic” & ‘mallet’ to find a guy easily denting one of those with a rubber mallet. Although I won’t try it, I’m confident a similar blow would not dent this one a bit.

Be Carefull,
Well, received this pot in a timely manner and was ready to brew. going all good until I was moving it to my ice bath, (I know get a wert chiller, right) and there goes one of the handles. almost dropped the entire batch. Dont know if this was a fluke due to the TWO GREAT reveiws, but definately would keep your eyes open for a better pot for the price.
