Broke twice, in the same manner, Amazon support was helpful! I got this as a Christmas gift, and I christened it right away with a cup of tea! It whistles wonderfully, and it is absolutely beautiful. It heated very quickly and silently, with none of the popping or clicky noises that cheap kettles make. I wish I knew where Berghoff’s products are manufactured, because I’m hoping it lives up to the company name. For now, it is very nice, and appears to be well made. I had purchased one of these several years ago (I think from Costco) and had a love/hate relationship with it. My biggest complaint was that the handle gets very hot, hot enough to where you really should use a pot holder to pick it up.
