View Commentget an Aeropress coffee maker. It is the best. I use it at home everyday. It makes espresso then you dilute it to drink american coffee, and it is easy to clean up. Way better than any french press.
View CommentYou can get individual replacement parts from JetBoil, so if you would want to buy a lid from them, they are available without purchasing an entire kit.
View CommentWhat about liquid fuel, is that bad too, like in an expedition stove?
View CommentHave you assembled the press upside down or was it designed like that? I ask because my home version of a press has the edge that runs against the walls pointing down to reduce blowby of grounds. It looked like the hole in the middle goes right through, so you could flip the filter part. Give it a try.
View Commentwhen i go i like to just take some starbucks via coffee(micro ground, instant coffee so no chunks) i think they're great, light weight, and best of all you know how much you're taking (3 day trip, 3 packs). also i like sugar and creamer so i just plastic baggy a lot of sugar and powder creamer! works awesome! i love it and its simple. steps: boil 8oz of water, put instant coffee in cup first(the steam makes the instant coffee hard to come out, pour in water, and sugar and creamer, then drink up!
View Commentawesome this is what i needed!!!
View Commentwith your coffee press try turning it over, its designed to use with the fingers pointing down,it can then keep the coffee pressed to the bottom without it possibly tearing the mesh off,i have tried it both ways several times and with fingers down its much better,

View CommentCancer stove? Sorry, but I don't get it. Care to elaborate? Peace….
View CommentTaster's Choice packets and tea-bags, here.
View CommentI just make a coffee bag out of a coffee filter. Tie it closed with a string. Boil it in a pot of water. Lightweight and cheap. I have no jetboil stove. I use a mini Trangia alcohol stove. Or I could drink bitter instant coffee. Tea or coffee makes dirty unfiltered spring or creek water tasty and safe.
View CommentI have always used instant coffee. It was mre (canadian) coffee packs that got me into being a coffee drinker in the first place. Aside form that if i wated fresh coffee in the woods I would grind beans to a verry corse grind and make small baggies out of chese cloth and use it like a tea bag.
View CommentThe press screen is upside down. I know I'm a little late, sorry.
View CommentThis video got me to thinking and now am well on my way to making a coffee press using my 700 SP. Thanks for the inspiration. (the true inspiration is the black liquid that turns me from a bear back into a human in the mornings LOL!)
View CommentDUDE, You RULE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You just saved me a ton of research and money. I went online to JetBoil and went to the spare parts section. I ordered a "spare" rod and bottom filter, plus a PCS lid shipped for $23.85
You Rock!
View CommentI like it, but didnt have it when I did this vid.
View CommentGood job! I've been brewing 'turkish coffee' when I'm on the trail but of course you end up wasting a lot of it because of the sediment… This is a nice setup for those of us, like you, who don't want to purchase a separate coffee system. Thanks for posting.
