|Cood Cookware Set for the Money,
BEST attributes to the Rachel Ray Cucina Porcelain Enamel Cookware set:
-Handles are sturdy, attached strongly, and very comfortable
-Glass lids that fit well
-Nonstick coating seems to hold up to use well.
-The perfect assortment of sizes
What I didn’t like:
-The color. It is not as bad as I feared, but not my cup of tea either. (If you like orange though, then you will like these)
-The included utensils are junk and should not have counted in the 12-peice count of the set – they’re just cheap add-ons

|Very pretty colors, not terribly durable or heavy,
It will appeal to you if you prefer muted colors to acid brights. Classic Tuscan or even French Provencal, rather than retro Sixties. So that’s an issue if you already own a lot of Rachael Ray stoneware.
The set consists of two skillets, 8″ and 10″, high sided skillet 3qt, 1 qt small sauce pan, 3 qt saucepan, 6 qt pasta-stockpot, two utensils in temperature-resistant nylon–a slotted spatula and a slotted spoon. Lids make up the rest.
Good points:
1. The enamel is even and seems thick enough
2. The aluminum is lightweight.
3. The riveted handles look sturdy
4. The handles are ergonomically curved and are covered in silicone for heat protection. There is an eyelet on the end for hanging on a pot rack.
5. The covers are transparent glass and have silicone handles.
6. The teflon is PFOA free and a dark gray taupe, looks like Dupont Silverstone.
7. The saucepan rim is flared out, for better pouring.
Bad Points:
1. I think an 8″ and a 12″ skillet make more sense. The 12″ is useful for big stir-fries but the 10″ only somewhat larger than an 8″.
2. The stockpot is really a bit small. You’d need to add the Rachael Ray Cucina Porcelain Enamel Nonstick 8-Quart Covered Oval Pasta Pot with Pour Spout and that adds a lot of cost to the set.
3. The utensils are nice but if you’re not providing matching ladle and pasta grabber, you’d want to add those (more expense) to complete a set of useful utensils that are suitable for non-stick.
4. Can’t use if you have an induction cooktop. These pots do not have ferrous metal so they won’t conduct the magnet for induction cooking. (Maybe these are more common in Europe, so not a big issue in the US.)
5. I think the metal is a bit thin. I had another set of pots, and sadly the teflon coating was not strong however, the bottoms were cast aluminum (not enameled) and the metal thicker for better even heating. These seem a touch thin for holding heat and not having hot spots.
If you’re decorating your kitchen with the Cucina line, these are very nice and they come in some other very beautiful colors (the agave blue and mushroom, in particular, are handsome.)
Summary: nice looking, good handles. Size of two of the items (the 10″ skillet and the stockpot) are really too small for serious cooking. Won’t match your brighter stoneware from Ray.
UPDATE: I’m using these every day. They are enjoyable but nowhere near heavy enough. The skillet (which I use for omelets) works well but warped just a tad. The dutch oven has light scratches in the coating even though I use nylon utensils. The enamel is unmarred and cleans up well. Bottom line: not terribly durable. But pleasant to use.
